Astronomy training

If any of you are looking for a great opportunity for training, check out Astronomy from the Ground Up (AFGU). The activities and content are designed for non-formal education sites (nature centers, museums, etc.), and are GREAT!

If you want to find out more, go to:
http://astrosociety.org/afgu/

You can apply for a FREE online or onsite workshop, and receive a bunch of great materials and ideas. I've incorporated them into Night Interpretation class, and think they would be a great tool for most Naturalists/Interpreters. Check it out!

(Thanks to Cindy Coss for putting me on this path!)

I just finished this online training a couple weeks ago and it was truly fantastic! They supplies and materials alone are worth the six or so hours a week they ask out of you. It's a free training with loads of helpful lessons. I encourage anyone to give AFGU a try.

I second that! Great training for those who feel "astronomy-impaired". "Down to Earth" (and beyond) activities for all audiences. You also get connected with a plethora of other informal educators.
